MY PRIORITIES

Responsible Growth

While economic development is crucial, it must be balanced with careful planning and consideration for the long-term well-being of our city. Responsible growth means maintaining the charm and character that we love here while ensuring we have the infrastructure and resources to support our growing population. It involves collaborating with businesses and residents to strike a balance between progress and preservation. By promoting policies that encourage sustainable development, protect green spaces, and prioritize the needs of our existing residents, we can create a thriving community that preserves our unique identity for generations to come. Together, let's pursue responsible growth that respects our heritage and safeguards our future.

Fiscal Restraint

I firmly believe in responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and ensuring efficient and effective use of public funds. By implementing sound financial policies, such as prudent budgeting and reducing unnecessary expenditures, we can promote fiscal stability and create a favorable environment for economic growth. I am committed to keeping taxes low, minimizing government waste, and prioritizing essential services that benefit our community. With a focus on fiscal restraint, we can protect the hard-earned money of our residents while fostering a thriving and financially sustainable city for all.

Public Safety

A safe community is the foundation for a thriving society. I am committed to ensuring the well-being and security of our residents by supporting our law enforcement and public safety officers with the resources they need to effectively protect and serve our community. I will advocate for effective community policing initiatives, neighborhood watch programs, and partnerships between law enforcement and community organizations. Additionally, I will work towards making sure our public safety officers have all the resources they need to get their job done. Retaining talented and experienced firefighters and police officers is vital to the safety in Springville. Together, we can create a safe environment where families feel secure, businesses can flourish, and everyone can enjoy the peace of mind they deserve.

Limited Government

Government should have a minimal role in the lives of its citizens, allowing individuals and local communities to thrive and make their own decisions. By reducing bureaucracy and unnecessary regulations, we can empower our residents and businesses to flourish and innovate. I am committed to preserving individual liberties, protecting property rights, and promoting free markets.

Transparency

The people own the government and not the other way around. I firmly believe in open and accountable governance, where the actions and decisions of our local government are accessible to all residents. Transparency builds trust, fosters civic engagement, and enables effective citizen participation. I am committed to promoting transparency by maintaining public access to information, conducting open and inclusive meetings, and encouraging regular communication with constituents. Together, we can ensure that our community remains well-informed, empowered, and actively involved in the decision-making processes that shape our city's future.

Our Youth

I spent over a decade running a residential treatment ranch and a wilderness therapy program.  I am passionate about helping our youth.  We have amazing kids here in Springville and they deserve to have a safe and fun filled upbringing.  I want to see more recreational options for them.  Our rec department does an amazing job and they have recently added additional programs for young kids to do in the summer.  I applaud this and feel we can do even more.  Sports are just one avenue for healthy recreation.  I would love to see more outdoor education, wilderness skills, biking, archery, shooting, fishing, rock climbing and rodeo activities that our adolescents could become involved in.
